Breakdown of the Show

  • Steve Stelzer – City of Houston, Program Director for the Green Resource Center. He talks about the resource center and how you can come and learn about green building techniques and incorporate them into your construction. He also talks about the different levels of Green Certification that you can get in the city. Some of the lower levels are very in expensive.
  • Regina Lindsey, Greens Point Director of Economic Development. She discusses the commercial potential in the area for companies moving to the Houston Area. She also discussed the future of the Greens Point Mall and the stigma Greens Point vs the reality of what goes on in the area.
  • Barbara Schwarz — She discusses staging tips with Shannon. How to clean up the outside of your house to make it more appealing. Designing is personal and Staging is general to get the property sold.
  • Sheila Blake — City of Houston Building Code Administrator – Assistant Deputy Director. She discusses the need for inspection and that all properties are inspected. They are inspected to make sure buildings are safe. She discusses the process of how a code is introduced, they use national guides and determine if the code should be introduced in Houston. She also discusses new green codes that are coming to Houston.
